History
Our program was founded in 1994 by a former foster mother after witnessing decisions that resulted in tragic outcomes for a child living in her home. Throughout its history, CASA ACC has strategically grown in budget, board, staff, volunteers and children served. From its grassroots beginnings to expansions into Cape May County in 2001 and Camden County in 2022, CASA has remained steadfast in its vision to provide a dedicated advocate for every child in foster care within the communities we serve.
Through trained and compassionate CASA volunteers, we support children and youth during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of the children they serve, focusing on critical areas such as safety, health, emotional well-being, daily care, educational stability, and permanency planning. Working collaboratively with legal and child welfare professionals, educators, caregivers, and service providers, they help ensure that judges receive comprehensive information needed to make informed decisions that support each child’s long-term safety and success.
Adaptability, collaboration, and community engagement have been central to our success. Through strong partnerships with the courts, child welfare agencies, community organizations, donors, and supporters, CASA continues to serve children and families with compassion, advocacy, and a commitment to positive outcomes.
